It wasn’t long ago that Nissan joined forces with Tennessee’s GHSO to help inform drivers the importance of driving distraction free. This partnership is run through the ThinkFast Education Program and has aided in reducing the number of teen fatalities since they joined forces.
ThinkFast is an interactive game show that provides students with both awareness/education about the importance of distraction-free driving. Thinkfast is built for kids as it features a full production set, mainstream music, a host and also and of course, trivia questions regarding vehicle safety.
The ThinkFast Education Program has quickly grown thanks to Nissan’s help. Thinkfast was originally in 35-40 schools in Tennessee to now being in 110 plus as you’re reading this.
Bob Yakushi, Nissan’s Director of Product Safety, discussed the importance of this initiative and how Nissan is still working with GHSO to lower this figure, stating that, “Nissan is pleased to be the Tennessee GHSO’s partner in this important safety education initiative and to receive the 2012 Lifesaver Award as a reflection of our continued commitment to driver and passenger safety. Nissan has a vision of eliminating teen accidents and fatalities by instilling safe driving habits in Tennessee students with the ThinkFast program – just one of many safety education initiatives in place to help reduce the number of auto-related injuries and fatalities.”
